Additional Products & Service
The technology of fabricating clasp-free prosthesis combining fixed and removable appliances is extensive and complicated by the wide variety of manufactured attachment components. DDS Lab can support and fabricate precision attachments, semi-precision attachments, milled and/or any other available system. We recommend that the more complicated and exotic appliances procedures be handled by direct consulting and case planning with one of our expert technicians, who are available specifically for this purpose.

Attachments
Precision Attachments
Precision attachments are just that – “precision”. Their components are machined in special metal alloys under precise tolerances. These tolerances are within 0.01 mm. Since the specific hardness of the alloys is controlled, precision attachments offer the advantage of less wear on the abutments, and standard parts which allows the components to be interchangeable, and usually easier to repair when necessary.
Semi-Precision Attachments
A semi-precision attachment is fabricated by the direct casting of plastic, wax, or refractory patterns. Most semi-precision attachment patterns are injection molded to reduce the overall cost. They are considered “semi-precision” since in their fabrication they are subject to inconsistent water/powder rations, burn out temperatures, and other variables. The resulting components therefore, vary to a small degree. Their main advantages are: economy, easy fabrication and ability to be cast in a wide choice of alloys without the problem of co efficiency differences between the cast alloy and the machine alloy.
Diagnostic Wax-Ups
Diagnostic Wax-Ups are a valuable tool for any smile makeover because they give the patient an accurate preview of how their finished case will look. With this technique, the lab removes the desired amount of tooth structure from the preoperative model and the restoration is waxed onto the patient’s actual prepped teeth. This method accurately shows the patient, dentist and lab technician what is realistically available for the patient. The Diagnostic Wax-Up also helps many patients determine if they’ll pursue treatment by comparing this wax-up model to their existing smile. For this reason, all Diagnostic Wax-Ups should be fabricated from white stone models with white wax to produce the most lifelike result possible.
Temporaries
An esthetic solution for anterior and posterior temporization, DDS Lab’s temporaries provide many weeks of comfortable and confident wear. They are ideal for esthetic and implant cases, especially when correct anterior guidance and phonetics are being established.
